John Lennon Album Cover Worn Leather Jacket Sells For $60,000

When the Beatles went to Paris in January, 1964, they did a photo shoot for the cover of the 1964 French EP "Les Beatles," an extremely rare record which has become to be known as "The Sandwich Cover." They’re eating sandwiches – get it?

The three-quarter length, "John Michael Bond Street" black leather coat worn by John Lennon on the cover just sold for $60,000 at the Gotta Have It “Rock & Roll Pop Art Auction.”

John gave the coat to his cousin David Birch in the 1960's and a letter from Birch was included in the lot.
